Hi Wizzley Members, I am a complete Newbie to writing on the web. PatMcKZN is my Wizzley Name.  I joined Wizzley about 5 weeks ago and having just completed my first article that I wanted to publish and I was told to add a photo to sell and help search interest/attraction. Thus it appears that prior to progressing to the next step, I have some set-ups to finalise & questions that hopefully somebody can help with in this regard.

1) A photo I have, but how does one put a fair price/value on a photo? And I also notice some sellers have various options of size, framed or not framed etc. All a bit confusing as to what is the norm, how it works. The whole process would be appreciated.

2) I have not registered with anyone/company through which my income will be handled. Any suggestions on a reputable company, what do they charge, and I sume that buyers pay money direct into that account?  I have been told of a company called www.PayFast.co.za that don't charge anything up front, just a percentage of the sale price. Anyone heard of them or something similar. What percentage do they charge, as I have not found that out yet? Again, the whole process would be appreciated.

3) How do our articles etc make revenue for us if they are openly on-line for all to see or copy? I read lots about clicks etc, I also read that company adverts on your page add value, but how does this work? I do understand that I am not going get millions of Dollars on tap, that is why I would like first hand information from those already on a pay roll.

4) What else do I have to know or do before publishing my first article?

I just want ot get going.

All help appreciated!

Many Thanks

PatMcKZN

PatMcKZN, I have been working on different sites since November, but I am still learning the ropes.  I suggest you go to the Help Tab on Wizzley, click on FAQ and read the articles that are there.  They have helped me out tremendously.  Hope this helps.

First, welcome to Wizzley. You have completed the content of an article so you have found how easy it is to complete that task. That is the best thing to know - how to create your article.

Now to the specifics:

1. Photo - I think what you have seen is a message from the Wizzley team giving you some advice (automatically generated). You have uploaded a picture of yourself - so it cannot be that.

What they are saying is that 'pictures enhance the look of any article' - you do not have to worry about creating your own pictures, or how to monetize them (sell). They are added to your article by using the picture module - just like the text module.

You must be careful using pictures that have been created by others as they are copyright protected - so don't find and use them from Google Images. Wizzley is a great site and they have a sister site called Pixabay - where you can find, and upload, copyright-free pictures. There are other sites that allow free use of pictures - but Pixabay should suffice for this first article.

2. Handling income - the first thing you must be made aware of is that Wizzley itself does not pay you. You get paid by external monetizing services such as Amazon, Google Adsense, and others. The Wizzley help articles will tell you all about this and how to set things up. For this answer, be aware that you would be best placed if you apply to Google Adsense for an account (when you will be paid directly by them); Amazon for a US account (when you will be paid direct by them); and for many of the other options it would be best if you apply and open a PayPal account, into which payments for transactions can be paid (and extracted when you require the cash).

3. Make revenue - see some examples as above

You also have Zazzle, Viglink, any affiliate program you can associate yourself with, Chitika (alternative to Adsense)......

4. What else do you need to know?

Cherylone hit the nail on the head - read the articles pointed to by the Help Tab

After that enter search queries into the search box at the top of the page, associated with a particular problem you may have - then read the articles that have been produced on the subject by the authors that have already found out how to do it.

If you can't find the answer, do what you have just done. Ask specific questions in the forum. Everyone here will try to assist wherever and whenever they can.

Hope this helps

A warm welcome aboard! It's a bit confusing at first but you'll get the hang of it soon enough- read the entire Wizzley help section and it should crystallize for you. As for building a wizzle, I have a rough draft tutorial that should lend some insight into the jumpstart process (building your first page). You can see it here:   Creating Your First Wizzley Article Part 1  hope that helps a bit, I will be making a video specifically about the modules including monetization ones and will post in the forum when it's done being edited (it's shot already)...

Glad to have been of assistance. We all have personal experience of finding it a bit overwhelming when first starting out on the road of content creation.

If things don't fall into place in your mind you can always message me direct (find the Send Message tab) and I will try to help - or point you in the direction of someone, or something, that may give you that 'click' of understanding you need.
