Image Resolutions

Hello Gang

Im pretty new here and working on a few pages. I do alot of photgraphy work and have my work all over the net on various stock sites. Of course I take very high resolution photos and create my illustrations the same. My question is what is the best resolution to use here at Wizzley. Will Wizzley "Rescale" the image if the resolution is too high or should I re-scale it before submission? Also as a note all my images at stock sites remain "Non-Exclusive" meaning I can use them as I please without restrictions.

I use lots of my own photos and can seem to use any size - Wizzley re-sizes them as needed I assume.

I don't know if there is an optimum size they would like you to use.  It may say in the download area what size is too large - I can't remember.

Most often I scale them down so they won't be "borrowed" by nasty borrowing people.

I have been thinking about the images I use and have related questions to the above.

How does the size of the image alter the time it takes for the page to load? Is there a point with the size of the image when it causes a noticeable difference, that might make a bounce more likely to happen?

Wizzley resizes the images for optimal web display and loading speed. However, if you make a 6-foot page with 60 full-size images in image modules, it will take a while to load. However again, Wizzley loads gradually, so that visitors will always have something to look at.

The same goes for videos.

Wizzley is rescaling your images. The Upload is a lot faster if you scale the images down before uploading.

My Tip: Public domain images on :-)
