Pixabay is one of the best resources for free images on the web. As many of you already know - pixabay.com is the brain child of Wizzley's co-founders (and German tech geniuses), Simon and Hans.

They've started a new blog with tips and tricks and info on the correct use of public domain images:

Go check it out, and while you're there, please give 'em a facebook "Like". If you feel extra generous, send a tweet about it to all your followers. They may not have heard of this fabulous site, yet.

Thanks!  Smile

Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

I joined and uploaded a bunch of images to the site, the blog is informative and the site, just brilliant, a permanent staple for any article writer.

p.s. I liked, tweeted, and syndicated the site/blog to all my contacts... this site deserves to be syndicated, they're doing a bang up job here.

I have been using Pixabay quite a bit for Zazzle (and plan to get a page up soon about that!).

Also Hans and Simon have some awesome photos -gorgeous scenery - up themselves.

It's a very useful site, and I love that they are picky about which photos they will allow.  There is no junk to wade through there.

I noticed this too, Pam. Nice when all the photos are usable. No more page after page of non-relevant and badly taken photos!

Hey guys, thanks for the positive feedback :))

Although it's true I'm doing most of the development and design on Pixabay, it's actually Hans who had the idea for it and who's uploading images like crazy. Smile

@Simon/Hans You guys are doing a brilliant job :)

@Dustytoes/mandeesears, true very true, I uploaded something like 50-80 images and only 12 were accepted (because my resolution/contrast wasn't perfect which I can completely understand)... this really shows the value of the site as standing at the top of quality standards- I love that when building a wizzle I can go to PB and usually in one search find the image I need, the only hard part is sometimes picking a picture amongst a bunch of perfect pictures.

It's great to know about this new resource for pictures. I just used an image in my latest Wizzle.

Between the pixabay site and the All Posters module you may never need to "look for" an image again anywhere else. I love how they built this into the site as it's one of the major concerns the others don't seem to deem important. You can also import images directly into your text capsule, size it, center it (if the center button doesn't do it use the indent button to center it- it sticks!)...
