Do your tastes lean rather towards pieces that are stark, modernistic and even a bit brutal? Well, this could be the page for you. Statement rings and bangles/cuffs are big news right now, so if you want to buy into this trend but make it your very own, then why not go for something with an industrial or even futuristic feel to it? There's a range of options, from the crushed soda can look to rings that look like nails. All the ones shown here are made from sterling silver.

Crushed cans - the crinkled look

Sterling silver pieces look best IMO when they've got a bit of depth and texture to them, combined with oxidation to add impact.

Cool threads

Threads of silver layered on top of an oxidised and/or textured base also has a very industrial feel to it. For example, try Silver Messages' sterling silver ring, which consists of a half inch wide oxidised silver band overlaid with silver threads plated in rose and yellow gold. The contrast between the golds and the oxidised silver underneath is quite striking.

Along similar lines (but without the gold plating), Skye Sterling's silver cuff bracelet is half an inch wide and has sterling silver threads layered on top of an oxidised silver background to give a layered, textured effect.
