Make sure your bananas are very ripe, I like pecans, but any nut would be yummy. You could also change the chocolate chips to another flavor if you like. This muffin is so good you could serve it for dessert, also good for breakfast and brunch. Cook up a batch for the weekend.

  • 1 stick (½ cup) butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 or 3 large ripe bananas (1 ½ cup)
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup pecans, chopped (or any kind of nut you like, walnuts are good too)
  • ¾ cup milk chocolate chips (or any kind of chip you like)

  1. In a mixing bowl cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  2. Add egg, bananas and vanilla extract; beat.
  3. In a small bowl combine flour and baking soda.
  4. Add to creamed mixture; mix just until blended.
  5. Stir in the nuts and chocolate chips into mixture.
  6. Grease or put paper liners in muffin pan.
  7. Fill each cup half full with batter.
  8. Bake in 350 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes and remove from pan and place on a rack to cool.

Now you can eat one of these scrumptious banana nut chocolate chip muffins!

Hi, I love muffins too! Hope you enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by!

Any kind of nuts, I like walnuts. You could replace bananas with applesauce, probably 1/2 to 1 cup. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm looking at the apple spice muffins...just right for this time of year, with a nice cup of tea! The chocolate cheesecake ones will be great on the holiday buffet.

I love this time of year and baking muffins. I am really excited to give your muffins a go . They will be great as portable snacks. I am making sourdough bread today but will put your recipes to good use very soon. I make cream cheese brownies but I find your chocolate cream cheese muffins to be a much better option.

Margielynn, Very nice use of delicious pecans! What would be the substitute ingredient in the cheesecake, chip and spice muffin recipes above for those who, unlike me, dislike pecans and for those who, like me, don't like bananas?
