Puppy Dog Spheres by Dune Design Studios: Sand Globes With Charismatic Canines

Water-filled snow globes enclose miniaturized scenes which transform into wonderlands with falling, sparkling particles simply by shaking or tipping. Lacking water, their sunny equivalents appear as beach vignettes with sand filling the bottom sector of the sphere. Tipping sand globes shifts the sand and rearranges the miniatures.

A plethora of themes are depicted in sand globes. Beach landscapes are excellent settings for pets, who enjoy sea and sand environments just as much as their human families.

Dune Design Studios of Orlando, Florida, includes in its creative sand globes a puppy-themed line, known as puppy dog spheres. Seven dog breeds represented in puppy dog spheres are available through cyberspace's easy shopping giant, Amazon:

• Golden Retriever;
• Black Lab;
• Yellow Lab;
• Brown Pug;
• Rottweiler;
• Yorkshire Terrier.

Apart from the Rottweiler, which only is available as a 4-inch sphere, the other five puppy spheres are offered via Amazon in two sizes as:

• 3-inch diameters and
• 4-inch diameters.

These puppy dog spheres capture the appeal of each of these breeds.

They make great gifts for:

• everyday;
• holidays;
• special occasions such as birthdays.

The phenomenal patience and sociability of Golden Retrievers especially qualifies them as:

• guide dogs;
• mobility assistance dogs;
• search and rescue dogs.

The Golden Retriever figurines differ for the two sphere sizes, but both are recognizable in epitomizing the calm, happy patience that this heart-of-gold breed displays.

Loyal and playful as family dogs, their athleticism and their stable temperament eminently qualify them as:

• guide dogs;
• narcotics detection dogs;
• search-and-rescue dogs.

This talented breed is especially dear to me, for one of my great childhood pals, Clinker, my paternal uncle's pet, was a Black Lab.

Affectionately known as Rotts or Rotties, Rottweilers are one of the oldest herding breeds, with their history dating back to Roman Empire (27 BCE – 476 AD). Traditionally, Rotties have excelled at herding livestock and pulling as well as guarding carts of butchered meat.

The clownish playfulness that Rotties exhibit as pets in family life derives from confidence and security. Unfortunately, a Hyde-like flip of their territorial and watchdog instincts into super-aggressiveness may occur as a result of:

• lack of socialization through abuse and/or neglect;
• lack of training.

The American Kennel Club recognizes the breed as greatly alert, with a self-confident aloofness, and a strong eagerness for work.

• Rottweilers exude calm, confident courage, which endears them as companions and guardians.

For me, happy, well-trained Rottweilers are extraordinary ambassadors for canine-human camaraderie. The outer glow from inner confidence is impressive and unmistakable.

For me, Yorkies are unequalled for alert adorability. Their perky, pert manner is refreshing and also disarming.

• Who knew that rat catchers could be so adorable, so elegant?

Since crafting their signature BeachBall glass sphere in 1991, Dune Design Studios Inc. of Orlando, Florida, has concentrated on quality in craftsmanship, from creativity to design to production.

The company's line of Puppy Dog Spheres exemplifies this commitment, with attractive settings and precise figurines. Puppy Dog Spheres make perfect gifts for:

• admirers of quality collectibles;
• dog lovers;
• wannabe dog lovers.

For those whose living situation precludes pets in the home, Puppy Dog Spheres serve as decorative substitutes.

For those in the fortunate situation of having pets as family members, canine-themed decor such as Puppy Dog Spheres is a welcome style.

Dog lovers all know that ideally you can never have too many puppies, including those in Dune Design Studios' gorgeous Puppy Dog Spheres.

My special thanks to talented artists and photographers/concerned organizations who make their fine images available on the internet.
