Review of Bow Ties Smooth Cheddar Baked Puffed Snack

One of the biggest challenges we face during the school year is finding affordable items to put in our daughters' school lunches that can also double as something they can take for snack time. As a result, this was one of our primary reasons for last month's shopping trip at Costco.

Since both daughters like chips, we decided to check out that section. And, when we saw a bag of Bow Ties Smooth Cheddar Baked Puff Snacks, we decided to give them a try.

This is a product we had not tried before and mostly made the purchase because they looked somewhat unique. As a result, I wasn't really sure what to expect from this snack food because, while some cheddar-flavored snacks are really good, others just don't live up to the hype. Fortunately, this particular snack food falls into the former category.

The thing that really impressed me about this chip was the taste. A lot of times, cheddar-flavored snacks taste more like salt than cheese and, because of the fact this was affordable, I did wonder if that would be the case this time too. However, the chips have a good cheddar flavor to them. 

The chips are also memorable because of their texture. The "puffed" aspect of the chips makes them light but crispy, something that isn't always the case with snack foods of this nature.

Probably my only real complaint about this product is, because they are puffed, the chips are apparently easy to break. The bag we got had some fully-intact bow ties. But, it had about twice as many chips that were broken. To be fair, this could easily be the result of how they were stored and I'm not treating it as a huge deal as a result. However, it was a little disappointing when I saw that.

This is a somewhat unique and good-tasting snack food I was really impressed with when I tried them. I would recommend this product as a result.
