Steampunk Furniture Choices for the Home

Restoration Hardware has always showcased vintage look furniture and now they have brought in the industrial and steampunk looks. Shop for these high-end items on eBay and save on the items you want to most.

Tucked leather in red seems so perfected for steam. Start with this in an office or livingroom and go with the home decor accents to round out the look your want to arrive at.

It can be a collector's journey with odd and wonderful looking items browsed from artists on eBay and Etsy. One year I was wild for alarm clocks and amassed a sizable collection that now resides in boxes. Never mind that out come, I had a lot of fun choosing the collection. 

Put the precious art pieces collected on these examples above for the parlor. The Victorian era or Mod-Vic can be exploited, but also contemporary like the Powell wall console is a possibility. 

1. Start with one room at a time or you will be over whelmed with expense. A woman fan may start with the comfort room, the bathroom. The bathroom will need fixtures from the turn of the century with the big soaking tub.

2. If you have art pieces or a home decor accessories collection amassed start with the living room or den to showcase them to your visitors. The male in the house might do a long awaited man cave with these items.

3. Begin in the bedroom with colors and fabrics gleaned from fashions and costumes. Use hat stands on dressers, hooks on walls to hang costume belts, weapons, and coats. Open boxes displaying necklaces, rings and jewelry. Place a repro telephone on the nightstand.

4. The kitchen could have on old stove and lots of copper.  Table and chairs will be fun to shop for.

5. Do not forget the patio and backyard for summer parties. Accessorize with a string of Edison bulb lights. 

Keep in mind the choices I have picked from Amazon are an illustration of main stream looks that can be incorporated into a steampunk home just being developed. These are the looks that can be affordable. If you go to Amazon, the search "steampunk" will not give you furniture. This is why I developed this guide. 

Round out the room with the artist creations. The more expensive one of a kind items can be added to as the household's true collectible pieces.
