Jo, the statue in Whitehall Gardens is of Bartle Frere and he is just a standing statue, but the general shape and outlook of the Gardens is familiar, and that is my old stomping ground.

I love the color wash sprays but I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to seal the colors so they won't smear, smudge etc... They make beautiful backgrounds with stencils but when I try to collage something over them it makes a mess. I tried Krylon workable fixatif it didn't seem to make any difference. Any tips would be helpful.

For some reason sparrows and starlings just got fewer and fewer - nothing sinister.

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. I'm never sure if it's easier to have someone linger or go swiftly. Neither are pleasant. But, as you said, the former allows you time to prepare yourself.

MIsty Morning - I think that if you're not in Whitehall Gardens, you're somewhere close by. I just used Google Street View to check my theory, but a sodding great coach is in the way, just when you've got a clear shot of the statue through the trees. The building looks right though.
