I cut my own hair too. It grows like a weed and it becomes expensive getting it cut all the time, especially when I only get it trimmed. (Styled cuts grow out of my hair too fast so not worth the money for me.) I haven't been to a formal hairdresser for maybe 15 years.

@Mira... herbal infusions have worked wonders for me over the last year. My hair is healthier and thicker than it has EVER been. I use my growth oil everyday on myself and both of my daughters.

Ive just had done to mine which you did, but my hair is longer. Its only been a couple of hours but the pull from the braids is a bit painful, how long will it take to stop hurting?

No problem. They have TONS of wigs. It's pretty cool.

Gosh short hair would drive me crazy. I ALWAYS sleep with my hair plaited so there's no knots when I wake up. I also don't get much time to spend on my hair. A plait takes 2 minutes. Can't imagine spending all that time on getting the style back. All the expense on buying the sprays and gels too. I think I will definitely stick with my long hair :)

SusanM, I have had both short and long hair. My hair is a pain to care for when It's short or medium length. You can't get the parts and smashed in areas combed out properly when you sleep on it like you can long hair. You can't put short hair up when you sleep so it gets so SO messed up beyond repair until you wash and style it again. You have to blow dry it to get the style the way it's meant to be, you have to use hair sprays and jells etc more to get the hair to do what you want and on and on the cons of having short hair go.

PLUS, like you said long hair can be put up and out of your way. Short hair drove me crazy as it gets in your eyes all the time. You can't put it back or up. I'm an active girl and short hair just got in my face to much.
