I'm so sorry to hear that you have this. Although I don't have fibromyalgia, I have suffered from severe depression in the past and had to be hospitalized once because I was suicidal. I was also forced to go on retirement disability. The one thing I can relate to is that people don't understand. There are certain diseases and disorders that you can't understand what it's like unless you experience it yourself. Friends and family can get really annoyed with you, because they just don't understand.

To be honest I'm not bothered by pushy sales people because i don't notice it. My wife is the one that told me the last car sales man was pushy. All I heard was the price and details of the car. I didn't even hear him saying we had to hurry. Didn't buy from him because the wife didn't like him.

I saw those around Massachusetts. I hated driving by that corner. Ugh.

Lil, Where did you grow up? I never saw gory decorations like that in CA. I'm a Baby Boomer too.

2uesday - I read Year of Wonders some years ago. But I'm reading it again now. Being in Eyam made me imagine so much what it was like, that I had to delve a little further. All the things that you've just mentioned have been playing on my mind since I went there. I hadn't considered the 'Walking Dead' link though. You're quite right. Frightening stuff. And thanks!

Dustytoes - Thank you very much. Yes, it is impossible to know how many they saved. Equal populations in small neighboring villages, like Stoney Middleton, to be sure. But not far away is Bakewell, which is a large town. Merchants would have traveled between there and the cities of Chesterfield, Stockport and Manchester. I personally think that they ended up not only saving Derbyshire, but Cheshire, Lancashire and possibly Yorkshire too. Many thousands of people, if not millions. I'm still in awe at their courage and self-sacrifice.
