How to Stay Cool at Home

Window fans are the best. I keep them running all night and into the early morning to pull in the coolness then shut everything up- as you've said - once the sun rises. I also have a small battery operated fan on my desk where I work, and recently bought a portable AC unit. Now, if I just had AC in my car I'd be all set.

Creative Fundrasing Strategy

I completely agree Jo! People tend to get 'donation deaf' if asked over and over again to give for the same cause, SY

Creative Fundrasing Strategy

My mother runs a playgroup and we raised a lot of money last week. It was the town carnival, so they had both a tombola stall and a float. Being a playgroup, they had the 'cute' factor in their favour, as little kids dressed up on a float tends to cause a lot of 'awwwws'.

One tip that I would add though is not to over-do it. There's a local school here, which has taken to asking for donations three or four times a week. The parents (some of whom have smaller ones at the playgroup) have reached saturation point. They're now refusing any demands and, indeed, putting it in the playgroup box.

Bad for the school, great for my mother!

Squidoo review: What it is and why you should care

I make a little bit each month. I like the Squidoo platform and have been writing there for a couple of years.

The 10 (Cat) Commandements

Sounds like a good idea to me ;-) Oscar, our cat, has been barfed for a long time, now he is to old and lazy and we are back to quality cat food! Thanks for your kind words, my native language is German, but being married to a Brit has improved my English considerably ;-) SY

Take Some Time For Tea

Hello Brenda! Yes, I do agree with you. There is nothing better that to sit down and drink tea from a lovely cup. I love my beautiful tea cups. They make me happy. Thank you!

My Little Tea Story

. . . Oh, my, what can I say, the epi man sure knows how to leave beautiful and supportive comments. No wonder I love to write so much! Your kind, sweet and witty, witty words sure makes me want to start writing yet another Wiz. This top ten comment should be a wiz on its own I think, lol! I love your humor my dear friend. Now go and prepare your finest loose leaf tea, and with each sip enjoy the aroma and flavor while you scribe your wonderful poetry. . . I love you my friend and thank you.

Squidoo review: What it is and why you should care

@katiem2: Diversifying is part of every investment strategy and this is true for writing articles on-line too. If we meet some cool people by the way even better:)

Squidoo review: What it is and why you should care

@Ragtimelil: Yes, size matters. Squidoo has pages, where new content is presented just like Wizzley, but for some more competitive topics your lens can stay there only for several hours or even minutes. You have to promote your content some way or another.
One way is to use your social circles: e-mailing, FaceBook, Twitter, Digg, RedGage...
Other way is to use the support systems of Squidoo. First is of course SquidU - forum devoted to Squidoo lenses and run by Squidoo lensmasters, there are also special directories for Squidoo lenses only and one way I use most is by commenting on other users' lenses. By some experimenting you will very fast learn what works best for you. I am a born commenter, but some lensmasters prefer forums and directories. I can also recommend you to read AJ's wizz about Squidoo, where are some useful links working well for her.

I have light amber eyes. Wolf like. I wonder what that means?

The 10 (Cat) Commandements

Haha, cute. My cats approve. What is your native language? I wouldn't have guessed it wasn't English. I feel like writing a set of Cat Commandments now too. I'll want to take on the barf issue, which looms large in our household.
