Starting on Nov. 11, Google will use your name, picture, and product endorsements in corporate ads. You can read more here.

To opt out, go here and uncheck the box at the bottom of the page. Then save.

Thank you for this!   It is galling that we actually have to take action to opt out, rather than to take action to opt in.  Too bad if my friends don't benefit from my recommendations (as Google told me when I unchecked the box).

I'm experiencing the same thing, 2uesday. I don't have a Google+ account, either.

Geesh. Big Brother, much? Thanks for the heads up.

As I run a corporate account too, I'm going to run off for words with the boss before I do anything with that, but my personal account won't be showing any endorsed ads.

Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

If you don't have a Google account/profile, then Google can't show it in those ads, anyway. So, no worry then.

Personally, I don't really care if my mug shows up all over the net. But I wanted to point out the solution for folks who don't agree with that kind of schtuff.

Thank you!  I HATE being taken advantage of like this.  I'm going to spread the word.
