Review of Great Value Lasagna in Meat Sauce

We had some grocery shopping that needed to be done this past weekend. And, since I needed to stop by Wal-mart anyway (to pick up a birthday present for my wife), I decided to just do some of the shopping there.

One of the things my wife wanted me to pick up was frozen dinners, primarily for the convenience on days when we're in a hurry, so I did that. One of those items was a frozen meat lasagna dinner from the Great Value brand. I ended up having this for dinner last night and, overall, thought it was a good purchase.

As far as quantity goes, I got pretty much what I was expecting. It was a somewhat thin lasagna that was barely enough to feed me. In fact, I ended up having to have some watermelon a little later on, just to make sure I was full. However, given the lower price of this product, this was something I was willing to overlook, especially since I've had thinner lasagna items from other brands that were considerably more expensive.

Taste-wise, I had no complaints about this frozen dinner. The lasagna had a good blend of seasonings in it and, unlike some other brands, wasn't too spicy. If nothing else, I can definitely say it wasn't bland to the point I needed to cover the lasagna in Parmesan cheese in order to eat it (again, something I could not say about many other brands).

I also liked how convenient this lasagna was to make. All I had to do was remove the lasagna from the box, cut a slit in the plastic and put it in the microwave for 7 minutes. That's a heck of a lot easier than many other brands and definitely something I appreciated (especially if I were considering this as a lunch-time option).

This was an affordable option that proved to offer decent quality too. I don't do much grocery shopping at Wal-mart, but this is an option I would consider purchasing again.
