Review of Kirkland Signature Beef Dinner Franks

My wife and I did some shopping at Costco a couple weeks ago and, since we were picking up stuff to go in our daughters' school lunches, we brought them with us. They were hungry so, before shopping, we bought them each a hot dog at Costco's food counter.

The hot dogs they served were Kirkland Signature Beef Dinner Franks.They seemed to enjoy them so, when we were in that section of the store, I decided to buy a package of them to make at home. We did that last night and, I have to say, I was very impressed with this purchase.

The thing that originally caught our attention when it came to this product was the size of the franks. The quarter-pound hot dogs are the equivalent of two regular-sized hot dogs (maybe even a little more) and are very filling as a result of that. In fact, based on what we were able to eat last night, we can get about three meals out of one package, something that definitely adds some value.

What really surprised me about this product, however, was the taste. Only one of us (my wife) usually likes beef franks. This is because most brands usually are very salty tasting. And, as a result of this, when we do purchase a brand that is made from beef, I normally expect my kids to put up a fight about it.

These franks, in comparison, weren't overly salty and actually had a good flavor overall. In fact, my youngest daughter actually ate an entire one by herself, something that is impressive considering she usually only eats one regular-sized hot dog and is full.

Another thing I liked about this brand was the skin. Again, there are a lot of products out there that are similar to this one and have tough skin on the franks. That was not the case. The skin was easy to bite into and chew. This, again, was something I'm sure was a factor in my youngest daughter getting through one of these despite the fact they didn't even fit in the buns.

This is a product that really impressed me. I don't normally like beef franks/hot dogs and don't buy them very often. However, I would definitely purchase this brand again.
