Best Hard Anodized Cookware

by Rose

Aluminum is a popular choice for cookware because it heats up so quickly. This page reviews the best hard anodized aluminum cookware sets available

Hard anodized cookware sets are made from aluminum that is processed so that the patina of the aluminum is toughened to become resistant to corrosion, and making it tougher than stainless steel cookware.

Aluminum is a very good conductor of heat, and hard anodized aluminum cookware heats up quickly and evenly.

The inside of the pans have a non-stick coating to ensure the food doesn't stick to the pan, and also to make sure food doesn't come into contact with the aluminum.

Here are the best hard anodized cookware sets.

KitchenAid 12 piece Nonstick Hard Anodized Cookware Set

This is my top recommendation. The pans comes with stainless steel handles wrapped in stay-cool silicon. The lids are made of tempered glass. The entire set is exceptionally well built.

Here is what is in the box: 3 covered saucepans (1 quart, 2 quarts and 3 quarts); an 8 quart covered stockpot, two skillets (an 8 inch and one 10 inch), plus a 12 inch covered saute pan.

Analon 12 piece Hard Anodized Cookware Set

This set also has glass lids and silicon covered stainless steel handles. What is interesting is the composition of the set - it includes two stockpots.

Here is what you get: two covered saucepans (2 quarts and 3 quarts), two covered stockpots (4 quarts and 8 quarts), one covered 5 quart saute pan and one 10 inch skillet.

Get this set if you do a lot of stockpot cooking, but don't use frying pans much (this set has just one skillet, as opposed to two as in the KitchenAid set.

Circulon 10 piece Hard Anodized Cookware Set

This set has ten pieces rather than twelve - here's what you get:

Two covered saucepans (1 quart and 2 quarts), two skillets (8 inch and 10 inches), an 8 quart stockpot and a 10.3 quart saute pan.

It's very similar to the KitchenAid set, except you don't get the 3 quart saucepan - and the cost of the Kitchen Aid set is similar. I included this set because the saute pan was so big (much bigger than in all the other sets). If you do a lot of saute pan cooking, then this is the one to go for. Otherwise pick the KitchenAid set.

Recommendation

If you do a lot of saucepan cooking, pick the KitchenAid 12 piece hard anodized set - it has three saucepans of different sizes.

If you do a lot of stockpot cooking, pick the Analon set - it's the only one with two stockpots.

If you need a big saute pan, choose the Circulon set - it's the only one with a 10.3 quart saute pan.
