I must admit I never cared about sauna in a way it is done in our country (and most others). After reading this story I would certainly like to try it. Did you know, there suppose to be more saunas than cars in Finland? Or another trivia: in the middle of the battle part of the Finnish army backed up to build some saunas for the rest of the fighters. I bet they were both motivated!
Cheers!

I'm reading Donnelly's book now. I'm a tad over the shock I experienced when reading Woodham-Smith. I get frustrated when I read low stats of how many perished. 9 million were alive in 1841, 4 million remained, and 1 1/2 million emigrated. Simple math that nobody can seem to do. Nor will we ever know the real numbers.

BTW, I have a Harrington in my tree. Have you read about the tenements in New York? It's the stuff they make movies out of. Doing family research can be an eye-opener.

The Irish coming from the worst conditions in the world wound up in the next to worst conditions in the world upon arrival here. It's been some journey for me, especially when I can put names to the people who suffered so much. Not all them though. Just one limb of the tree, the others landed softer.

Hello Dustytoes! Thank you for your lovely and heartfelt words. Yes, let's hope that there will be a cure one day.

It depends on the shipper Mira.

You're welcome. Yes, most spinning workshops stop at the spinning part. There's more to do once you've spun your yarn.

What a beautiful place. I wish I could go for a walk with you. I bought that camera about five months ago. I guess I had better learn how to use it.

The candy is gross, but kids would love them. I always get lots of chocolate for the kids so I can eat the leftovers.

Thanks! You should try the mini greenhouses, they have a lot of sizes!

I'm a knitter and even took a workshop on spinning, but I've never heard of or seen this tool. Thanks for enlightening me.

If my yard was big enough I'd have a nice little green house.
Congrats on #100 - very nice page.

It's good to know there are so many accessories for Kindle Fire. I hope people will really use Ear Bud Microphones, because it can be pretty annoying listening somebody who uses his gadget in public place.
Thanks for the list!

What a great article!!! Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi corrjo and tolovaj, it's not a fancy recipe, so it wouldn't impress guests through great texture and mix of flavors, but it's satisfying nevertheless, because the tomatoes are tasty and refreshing, and lend a bit of their taste to the more bland zucchini and eggplant as well, and then that mozzarella gives it a bit of a salty edge. The mozzarella will be like a crust on top of the soup; I cut it in small patches with a knife before serving.
