Yep, you can forget the whole sword in the stone thing as well. That was fanon too.

It's hard work to find anything today that's close to the original. Too much fanon has crept in. Stephen Lawhead did make some attempt to return everything to their historical setting though. He's taken out much of the medieval fanon and plonked it all as it would have been around Geoffrey of Monmouth's day.

Without reading the translated fragments of ancient Welsh texts (themselves fanon), then you're not going to get there. The trouble is that those fragments literally are just that - fragments.

It is nice to do something special for family sometimes. I don't get depressed on holidays, just any time. It's my nature. That's why counting blessings is important for me to get out of that mood.

Hey Katiem! I finally made it! I had to open a different browser altogether. Three different browsers to be exact. Whatever settings I have on my PC wouldn't allow the whole page to show. OPERA has a little slider bar at the bottom to zoom in and out, which allowed the rest of the website to come in view. I had even gone and tried to comment on your articles, clicked register and it would send me back to the Home page. Well, I'm in now, yyou'r stuck with me. I'll be writing articles soon. TTYL. :-)

I enjoyed reading your article. My garden this year was great but i don't have raised beds. We are thinking it would be a better idea when these plants finish to do some raised beds for soem Winter and Early Spring planting. this will give us the advantage of the plastic canopy/tent for protection.

I really enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner when my children were all at home. I enjoy not cooking it now. The same goes for Christmas. My children go to the in-laws house. I lay on the sofa with my dogs and watch movies all day. I treat it like any other day in my mind. I don't get depressed, but I'm glad when the holidays are over and life is back to normal.

I just went for a job interview today and got to put my advice into practice. The second question can be handled well if you have done your homework about the company. You should have a pretty good sense of what they are looking for, so choose the skills from your past jobs that best fit this company's needs.
For example, in your work, you are required to be detail oriented, focused on the work environment, and be ready to adapt to changing circumstances or an emergency (safety first), BUT you also interact with the public, so you are the face of "customer relations/service" for your crew. You have to know and apply the required standards to keep your crew and the public safe, and traffic flowing with minimum interruption, while making the public aware of the reasons for any delay, but keeping them calm and happy about the work.
You can then take that info, and say that your best qualities are that you have shown yourself to be conscientious worker, friendly and outgoing with the public, while maintain positive, professional relationships with your team, and any workers you supervise. As well, that you thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, work environment.
The final question to me today was "What makes you the best candidate for this job?" My reply was "I feel I am a good fit for the office, that my age and experience has taught me the value of hard work and goal-setting, and my background/skills will allow me to make a valuable contribution in supporting the goals of the organization. Also, as a mature worker, I have the luxury of being able to concentrate on my own career/work without having to worry about a young family at home."
(I added the "mature worker" statement because I knew the current person was leaving to have a baby, and I also knew they didn't want to train a new young person only to have them leave to get married or move away to the big city... Research is a wonderful thing.)

The knob on my dryer has broken and I use pliers to turn it on now. Maybe I should try some super plastic glue - but I doubt it will work.

Great advice. Do you find people resorting to writing things down instead in order to communicate?
