Lammas: Celebrating the Wiccan Festival of First Harvest
The farm that I mentioned had a reversible sign. Painted upside down on the back of 'Pick your own strawberries' was 'pick your own pumpkins'. Obviously the next one along then! The reason that the American thanksgiving is in November is ...

Lammas: Celebrating the Wiccan Festival of First Harvest
One of my favorite parts of fall are harvest festivals! I never associated it with any religion though, it was more like a necessity...the crops need to be harvested and it takes people! Why not ...

How to Live on $1.25 a day
That's exactly how I buy groceries, a bunch of us pitch in and consolidate items in bulk, then distribute them using the containers i.e. cooking oil, sugar (we use coffee plastic containers), etc... it's like a refill service and without the ...

How to Live on $1.25 a day
You are right. I actually might be doing that with a friend soon, but she lives an hour away. It will take some planning.

How to Live on $1.25 a day
Yes, but if let's say ten of you get together and buy 100kg (or lbs for those of you on the other side of the big pond) for cheaper, it would still be only 10kg/lbs per person, but for cheaper ;-) SY

Talking to Somebody Who is Deaf in One Ear
Wow! That is an amazing story. I didn't know any of that, nor had I heard of the university. I'm proud of their stand. I've been musing on what you said about 'good' and 'bad' ear. I'm going to stop saying that. Thank you. :)

Bulk is good if you have storage. Right now I don't. I'm keeping canned goods in the closet because there's not enough room in the cupboards. Campers are not noted for storage capacity.

How to Read and Eat at the Same Time
Sorry to hear that BrendaReeves! I do so too, but I take care that nor food nor drink ever pass OVER a computer or laptop, that way the worst that can happen is that they drip on my desktop or clothes – easier to clean up ;-) SY

Talking to Somebody Who is Deaf in One Ear
Jo an event in the late 1980's caused me to evaluate my feelings towards my deafness and what it meant to say that I had a 'bad ear'. Until the event, I had always felt embarrassed being deaf in ...

The Debate Over Marriage
I like to live and let live. That is my philosophy, so the question of being married or not is of little importance to my way of thinking. A thought provoking article, Katie. Excellent work!

DC Comics Collector Figures
Ah yes, I love The Joker the best of them all. The statuesque figure is amazing. The Super-Villains are almost as popular as the Supermans and Batmans of the world. Thank you again, Katie, for visiting my articles and taking the time to comment.
