Hi, Brian. There are many methods that are efficacious and yours are no exception. Perhaps I should have added a dual module so that people could let me know their method.
My view is that it is not only the root section that is the main culprit, but equally the growing tip. Getting rid of these two parts completely, without cutting into them, has the most chance of limiting the chemical reaction.

The best time, in either country, to catch them, is when they are settled at work or, more probably, considering the audience demographics at Wizzley, when the kids are at school, some of the chores have been done, and it is time for a coffee break. That is unlikely, in either case, to be before 10:30 t0 11:00. Publishing before that time, for the country where you have a readership, will most likely fall on stony ground.
We have taken the time to produce our masterpiece. It is imperative that we sow our seed onto the fertile patch. That way we have the best chance for it to germinate, grow and reproduce. The reproduction bit being the cultivation of our audience.
I believe that publishing at the right time has a significant impact on your overall online writing well-being.

This is an issue which I have also thought about many time. I tend to write very late at night, but many of my readers are from Britain. So I hope they are reading while having their morning tea! Thanks for alerting others to this though, because I believe it does matter if you want your writing to get noticed.

@Terri - I see how, for you, this schedule would not be appropriate, but it was meant for general consumption. With an established audience, that has ways and means to get to the articles from their favorite author, thinking about the best time to publish is not necessary. Otherwise, it can make a difference.
