Hi loopy-lou33 - My son also has what they call Autism Spectrum Disorder or symptoms of Aspergers too. It is quite an adventure. His diagnosis is ADHD with symptoms of Bipolar, Aspergers, and ODD. I would love to be able to help other parents of children with these disorders in some way. If nothing else, to make them feel like they are not alone. Hang in there and please stay in touch! We have to stick together and learn from one another.

That is great to hear Jo. I'm sure your friend appreciates being included. I wish more people were like that, as sadly, my son is having quite a few issues with kids bullying him at school because he is "different".

I just had recently an editor's choice award and so I don't think I should get another one too soon ;-) What I like even more than awards is how this article started a real discussion in the comments and gets people thinking about the topic. As much as I enough getting an award, I would say that I enjoy exchanging ideas and opinions in the discussion section even more!

I have a friend with ASD. It's no big deal for us. He's included in everything that we do, there's just more leeway specific to his needs. Anything that we plan is explained to him using just the facts, without any of the flowery language that surrounds the rest of us. He knows that he can take any of us aside and ask for clarification on things that are confusing him. It's always freely given and he does do that. Everyone seems happy enough with this. :D

I would agree Humagaia, but there is also the whole problem of spammers, how would this different internet cope with them? I am not speaking of people that have a different opinion than me, I am speaking of people that are truly content spammers that are only after the quick buck for whatever high-paying keyword they have in mind ...
The easiest way to achieve this would be to do away with all ads, but then, that is also not what we want! So, whilst we are not being able, at least not short term, to change the whole internet, let's just make sure that Wizzley is and stays different from other online publishing platforms ;-)
