These double knee jeans are great if you spend time crawling around on the ground, or working beneath your car. The knees are reinforced, and have a double layer of fabric from the middle of your thigh, to right below the knee area. It forms a pocket, so knee pads can be inserted for more padding.

These jeans also offer multiple pockets, plus a loop at the side for carrying tools. Another great feature is they are boot cut, so they will fit over most any style of work or cowboy boot.

Carhartt makes a number of jackets. The one my husband wore – and I continue to wear to this day – is the thermal lined duck jacket.

It’s a heavy enough jacket for temperatures in the high 30s and above, and is quite comfortable. It’s easy to move around in, as there is ample room in the shoulder area. While the outer coat is made of duck, the inside is a much lighter polyester. It keeps the warmth in, and blocks the cooler temperatures.

The cuffs are made of a ribbed knit, that keeps wind and cold air from going up your sleeve. It also has a hood, complete with thermal lining.

The pockets are quite deep. They are big enough to keep your hand warm, even while wearing gloves. There are also two inside pockets to hold your cell phone, and any other accessories you carry.

Insulated Overalls by Carhartt

Insulated overalls are a must in the winter! If you live where the temperatures get below freezing, you know how important it is to stay warm. There are a number of brands of insulated overalls on the market, but Carhartt is the best when it comes to keeping you warm!

My husband owned several pairs of these, as do most of his friends. I even own 2 pairs myself!

Unlike coveralls, these overalls allow better arm movement. They will keep your upper body and legs warm, and are easy to slip on over your clothing. The legs have zippers that open to the knees, making them easy to slip on over your boots.

They have a quilted lining, which is heavy enough to keep out the chill, but not so bulky that you won’t be able to maneuver.

They also have double-knees, which make it more comfortable when working on the ground. They are extra-sturdy, and will last several seasons. I’ve had mine for 3 years now, and although a bit faded, they have held up quite well!

Simply pair them with a Carhartt jacket and some Muck boots, and you’ll stay warm all winter!
