The basic concept of cake push up pops is layering. Generally, cake and icing is layered in the push up pop container to create a colorful treat. You can also add some cake sprinkles to the top to finish off your pop.
There are a few ways in which you can make these cake pops. The first is to bake your cake in mini muffin pans since these miniature muffins fit perfectly into the pop containers.
Another option is to bake a thin sheet cake and then cut out the circles. To cut out the circles you can use the end of the push up pop container or you can use a small cookie cutter. Both will do the job.
Once your cake is baked and shaped, place it in your pop containers with alternating layers of your favorite icing or frosting.
Using cake and icing for these pops is the most popular way to serve them, however, I have also seen these push up pops filled with pudding, ice cream and jello.
Since there are so many ways in which you can create a push up pop treat, the best thing to do is to purchase the containers and then experiment. It is quite possible that you will come up with a cake push up pop that nobody else has tried yet. There is really no wrong way to make these pops, so get creative and have fun with them!
Whether serving these cake push up pops at a party or just making a fun dessert for your family, these treats are sure to please!
