Choco Story Museum - Things to do with Kids in Prague

by Sam

The Choco Story Museum is a certain hit with kids in Prague. Suitable for all ages and ideal for a rainy day! Get all the info about it this article.

I don't know many kids that don't like chocolate, so the 'Choco Story Museum' in Prague is one that I always recommend to visitors with kids ;-) Apart of learning, in a fun way, all about the history of chocolate, kids can also watch, and try!, how pralines are made. Additionally they get stickers and paper at the entrance, and, if all is filled out correctly, can exchange this after the visit for a small surprise gift.

Quick Overview

  • Opening Hours: Daily from 10:00 to 19:00.
  • Age Group: Pretty much suitable for any age group, including adults.
  • Typical time spent: You need at least one hour, better two, for a visit.
  • Rainy / Sunny Day Activity: Ideal for rainy days.
  • Fun Factor: High for Chocolate fans and children that can already read, still great for younger ones.
  • Boring Factor for adults: None, unless you hate chocolate ;-)
  • Educational bonus: Sure! Kids can learn here about the history and production of chocolate, a visit really counts as an 'extra curriculum' activity.

Things to do and see at the Choco Story Museum

Every 30 minutes there is a demonstrations by a chocolatier (Chef de Chocolate;-) that shows small and big visitors how chocolate is made the correct way, all shiny, crunchy and tasty. Also the production of pralines is shown.

There are the usual exhibits, and yes, explanatory panels are multilingual, including English!, like historic molds used to form the chocolate into pretty shapes, drinking vessels and packages together with photographs that take you through its tasty history.

Summary

A great way to spend a couple of hours, learn something new and have fun. The Choco Story Museum is highly recommended for young and young at heart ;-)
