The Book That Inspires Romance!
I highly recommend Moll Andersons Seductive Tables for Two for long term table celebrations that include outdoor picnics ideas as well as inspiring romantic ideas you are sure to love. This book also includes a recipes section that will help you plan easy romantic, lovable meals exclusively for two that are easily made and won't keep you in the kitchen all evening.
MAKE OVER THE DINNER AREA
Surprisingly, it doesn't take much to redo your dinner area. Less is more in this case. Remove everything that is not needed from your dining room, including extra chairs if you can. Sweep, mop, store or whatever needs to be done to be sure the area is clean and free of dust and clutter.
START BY DECORATING THE TABLE
If you rarely use a tablecloth, I suggest adding one to make a dramatic change. Red is a great choice because red excites the mind and is good for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day and Christmas, so it can be used over and over for many occasions.
If you prefer a calmer more dramatic look, try white. White is another great choice for a tablecloth because you can use any color place settings and it will match nicely. Try to stick with a two color scheme.
Dinnerware is another item that can make the table special. You don't have to break your budget to add two dinner plates and two stemware glasses. You can add a colorful charger under the plates to make the table look a little more formal. I use the same ones from Christmas or other occasions.
Stemware for a romantic, seductive dinner should be a must. Pick something you love that makes you feel romantic. When it comes to stemware, anything goes. Grandmas long packed away crystal or sporting sporty and modern you pick up anywhere.
Candles, flowers, a favorite photo, chilled champagne, etc. Anything that shows you put thought into setting the table and did it just for the two of you. The most important thing to remember is that your are creating a memory.
Make sure you look your best and cook something fast and easy but delicious.
