I am not happy to see the number or scores on my profile and articles are dropping..Why is that?

Our developers tell us that they're constantly improving and readjusting the algorithm, which can cause fluctuations in the system. It's only an internal ranking system anyway, and it has no influence over your payouts or your positions in Google.

Also, numbers will go up and down normally once an article has been out for a while.  As long as you are writing original content and following the Wizzley TOS, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I just asked about this in 'help' - and will be off to delete that post in a minute. While I understand that it is an internal system, my concern is that higher ranked articles and higher ranked authors will get more visibility on the site - so internal traffic, comments etc will be far higher for those with higher rankings. It's very 'scary' to see most of my articles under 35% - I don't feel they are bad articles......

Simey - a low rank does not necesarily indicate a "bad" article. The number of comments, likes, shares, bookmarks, the use of pictures, the number of modules...so many things play a role in our secret internal ranking soup.

The most important traffic comes from Google keyword search. Our internal ranking plays no role in that. If you can apply better SEO, backlinking and promoting strategies, by all means - do it. That will bring you more Google traffic.

There are two ranking systems - author rank and article rank.

1. The author rank is calculated through an algorith which takes into account (among other things),  the number and quality of the pages and the completeness of an author's profile.

2. The Wizzley page rank is a quality measure and is expressed as a percentage, where 100% represents the highest level.  Outstanding articles are displayed more often on the Wizzley front pages and may attract more traffic.  A range of factors are taken into account to determine page rank and they include:

a. Number of visitors and comments

b. Content and uniqueness of articles.

Both author and article ranking algoriths are constantly being adjusted for optimization purposes so indivdual author and article ranks can shift.

I notice the ranking of my individual articles cover a wide % range.

So I think the moral of the ranking system is to write quality stuff that people want to read and promote your articles, as Chef Keem suggests above.

Good to know! I wasn't worried, but I did wonder about it.

Cool, I won't worry too much about ranking then as long as I try to keep my quality up. I was first concerned as my article rankings are below 50 and much lower than that of my HP hubs.
