I put up my first of what I hope will be a series of articles on South Sudan. After my 2 wks there I hope I have something interesting to say.

My first page is about the temporary capital, Juba. I'm getting nice referrals from lonelyplanet and google and am happy about that. The competition for this subject is low. But nobody is leaving me comments or likes. (Thanks SheilaMarie for my lone like and comment)

Therefore, I would greatly appreciate your suggestions for improving this page and making it more interactive. Also - I'm wondering about selling things on this page. Do you think anything would work? I've not yet had any luck either here or on squidoo selling stuff from my pages.

Thanks

Sheri

You could sell:

travel kits for adventure travelers (Amazon)

beautiful "Africa" posters (Allposters)

books with tips on Africa travels (Amazon)

clothing from various specialty outfitters (check VigLink merchants)

For more "interactivity" consider adding a poll or duel module.

Additional to what Cheffe said, you could write your own book (Kindle!), publish it on Amazon and link to that!

Thanks for the ideas - I'll get down to it. I think I can handle some of this.

Thanks for your tips, fellow Wizzles.  I incorporated some packing tips that lends itself well to amazon sales items.  I can't think of any poll or duel to set up so if any of you have any bright ideas you'd be happy to share, I'd be happy to hear.

BTW, when I made the comment about not getting comments, I was wondering why non-Wizzles were not leaving comments when there were several nons visiting my article.

Great article. One thing though, you don't seem to address the safety concerns that people might have. From what I remember there are still tensions with northern Sudan. I may well be totally wrong but I am guessing other people would have similar concerns.
