Work-wise, let me see. I invoiced an Italian client for around 6k Euros, then I invoiced a Greek one for 300-odd Euros, the rest covered by invoices from others in the firm. I had an Animated Discussion with an online contact and then started chasing overdue invoices. I'm now home and catching up on several days of Wizzley words before putting myself on the clock for my client who actually pays me (rather than wasting my time with the one who doesn't). Wizzley and other fun windows will remain open whilst I'm working. Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

I don't write for private clients, and I'm not sure I want to. I hear from everyone that they have trouble getting paid. Brenda Reeves

The one who pays me to write content is a private client. The one who doesn't pay me for content editing is a small business. And even when they did pay me it was editing-for-pennies. I can earn more in an hour with my private client than I earned in a week with them. But the weeks of non-payment begin to add up after a while. Those who fail to pay up soon find out three things: 1. I currently work in finance so I know how to write a decent dunning letter. 2. Services are withdrawn following protracted non-payment and said dunning letters are submitted until payment is forthcoming.
3. Terms of the above are non-negotiable. I'll hang around like a bad smell demanding payment weekly, or daily if needed, until I am paid. Then and only then will I leave fairly quietly... They want to mess with someone, they picked the wrong person. I'm known by my colleagues as The Rottweiler for a reason. Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

I clicked on Transformice. It's cute:). After some clicks though I had to get up from the computer. I came back and didn't know where the sprightly music was coming from ;-) |

Okay I am two days late getting a reply in here. On Thursday I thought it was Friday until about noontime. Since the Zazzle changes I've had a higher than usual number of customers contact me and I was working on some things for them. I also spoke with Anne (nightowl here at Wizzley) about some work I'd like her to do with my site, and I learned a lot from that conversation. She is super nice too. So Thursday was a productive day for me. |
