Whisky laced Baileys? Where do I join the queue? Alex. Article/recipe, please? Stat. Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

Our local pub has a BMW - Baileys, Malibu and whisky. Delicious! My stuff: A Writer's Guide to Wizzley | Beautiful Britain!

Malibu? Nah. I'd rather have a Rusty Nail, thank you. The Canadian version had added milk. Hence the preference for the song 'Milk And Alcohol' from Dr Feelgood. You've just introduced me to the world of whisky cocktails. Ok, I'll take one for the team. I'll work my way through these recipes and see what they're like. Wish me luck. My stuff: A Writer's Guide to Wizzley | Beautiful Britain!

Whisky with just about anything will do it here, Jo. Mum is also a whisky head but you can't get my dad to touch anything except brandy/cognac for spirits. That's whisky as in Scotch. The original stuff. Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

I had the Baileys recipe on the site that shall not be named a few years back...I took it down though as soon as I could. It's somewhere on my computer so I'll try and get it up again in time for tomorrow. Got a history piece to write first :) The cake is a new one so I'll have to write that one up. I keep meaning to get some recipes up. I bake regularly and have all these photos. I tend to post them on Untrained Housewife though, but I've stayed away from the Baileys one. |

Well you'd better jolly well put it up somewhere again, Alex, and let me and Jo have the link. Or, by the sounds of it, we'll be making our way up there to demand it in person... Baking. My husband has bought me a HUGE mixing bowl for Christmas so I have a feeling we might just be trying more recipes this year. I am a cook, not a baker, so all ideas of/links for/sites to find simple and easy sweet recipes appreciated. My culinary dessert skills don't stretch beyond apple crumble and the occasional pineapple upside down cake at the minute. Have a happy new year all. With friends tomorrow evening to celebrate, although I am still not good at leaving the house after the troubles of the last few months. You've found the Baileys now. As for the cake--it is one of the easiest recipes I've done in a long long time! Throw everything into a bowl, mix and then into a cake tin pretty much. My husband does all the cooking in the house until it comes to sauces; that's where my baking skills come in. Just over an hour to midnight here! Little girl has just woken up after checking in on her because she's gotten into a habit of falling asleep behind her door. Happy New Year, all. Hope you're having fun celebrating in your own way. |
