I'm just asking this question because I'm, well, nosey. I have noticed there's not much being written lately. I regularly scope out the "new" pages and there's only a handful published on most days. Where have all of us gone?

I noticed that too. There are lots of writers as you go through but not many of them have written anything more than a page or two. It's a shame. Kathleen

I think we need a couple more like Jo, and we'll be fine. I, for one, miss Katie. She was quite an inspiration when I started here. I hope she's doing well. I have lots of articles waiting, but no time to write them right now. Maybe soon. I should also figure out some articles for the holiday season. Derdriu is writing some amazing articles lately. Check out this one: http://wizzley.com/yves-piaget-rose/ P.S. Maybe a contest or two could move things along faster. :-) |

I try to write on a daily basis--it works out better for the income from the pieces--but there are certain days that I take off, unless there is something major in history on that day. But, yes I've noticed there aren't many new pieces being published. |

I've finally been able to write again. Hopefully things don't get hectic again and throw a wrench into things. I was just curious about things... |

I've cut back on writing here, I have to admit. I haven't made any money here, so I guess my articles aren't the type to bring in any funds. But I do try to do an article about once a month now. I make money on Bubblews which is an incentive, so that's my main focus at the moment. Kathleen

I understand. I hardly get any traffic here, too. It's discouraging at times. At first I thought maybe it was just what I was writing about but I wrote about the same things on hubpages and I get views there. My goal is to write 100 articles so I can get as much of a share as I can and then focus efforts elsewhere. I really like wizzley and I want to be here. |

I like it here as well, and I plan to add more content. This is a really nice platform and the articles are so easy to write, because the interface works so well. So I plan to stay. But at some point I hope to earn something, as I do on the other sites I work. Abby, your recent success was encouraging. Katie is very missed around here. She was so kind and helpful when I was just starting out. MIra, I agree that some of the new writers, such as Derdriu and EmmaSRose, are putting up some very good articles. |

I by no means started this thread in the attempt to complain, I was just curious as to where we all were. i love wizzley because it's easy to use and the articles look great. I'm going nowhere at the moment. :) yes my little zazzle sale was very encouraging. I've even added some new things to a piece I'm working on now. Let's look at the positive side of things and say that our little lull in traffic here is just a break before the Christmas madness lol I agree though that i need to put out some more holiday articles, but I'm at a loss to what to write because so much is already out there, hence my article, gifts for zombie lovers. ;) maybe we could come up for an unusual Christmas theme and all write write about that. it would be our own little contest, but without the prizes lol |

I do love putting my articles on here because it's a brilliant platform for anything arty - the articles look so good. It's a pleasure to use and I enjoy it very much. I wouldn't leave for that very reason! I do need to supplement my pension though! :) Kathleen

I didn't see it as complaining at all. There's been a big lull everywhere, which I'm hoping is related to pre-Halloween and the fact that much of the US had been enjoying relatively nice weather. Even Bubblews was quite on Saturday. |

It might not just be Wizzley that's quieter. I've been reading on other forums that people who have made decent money in the past by writing online on platforms like Squidoo and Wizzley now are making very little, and need to bring in money by other means. We all need to eat -- writing online currently doesn't seem to be the way to make ends meet. I like Wizzley too, but have never made much money here. I have so many other things in my life that I need to focus on now, so I'm not doing much online writing. Karen

Good morning! And a hearty Thank You for your kind words about our site. We're extra quality-conscious these days. This morning alone I rejected 5 new authors for rehashed, spammy, badly-written or otherwise poor content. As an ongoing process, we mark (for corrections) or delete old articles that don't fulfill our quality requirements anymore. Incidentally, our overall traffic has improved. We find it much more rewarding to publish your pages---especially by authors mentioned in, or contributing to, this thread---than to flood Wizzley with mediocre articles. And we do appreciate your loyalty, dear friends. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Good morning Chef! It seems like it's been forever since I've seen you. I do appreciate the fact that junk isn't allowed here and it's weeded out. It's good to know that Wizzley's traffic is up because of it. It's a pleasure to write here, love ya'll! |

I'm actually writing a new article or two at the moment, as I'm on leave this week. I'm going to try my travel articles and see how they fly. I'm also hoping to have enough time to myself this week (as I only have to cook supper tonight!) to finish up my backdated work that I've been attempting to finish since July when everything went into freefall at work. I'm presently off away with my in-laws and various other relations, so we're taking it in turns to cook. My husband, his mother and I have drawn the short straw of cooking tonight, but that relieves us of responsibility for the rest of the week. Trust me, I intend to make the most of it. I haven't made any money here either, but if I can raise my number of articles significantly in the next few months, I know that I will. And now, the chili calls. Then once supper is over I'm retiring back here with a stiff drink to write. I can't deal with 16 of my in-laws all at once constantly; the noise and carping just drives me insane. My mother-in-law started in on my husband on the way up and my jaw hurts from holding back on what I want to say. Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

Thank you for a heads up on the state of Wizzley. That's really refreshing, when you note that you rarely hear anything from owners of other sites. It's one of the major reasons that I love Wizzley so much. Like Abby, I keep a keen eye on the new pages too. I thought that they were actually speeding up though! I remember about June/July time, I was quietly despairing of much coming through. Now I look and several pieces seem to appear in one day. Maybe it's just a matter of perspective thing. I don't know. I've personally slowed down here a little, but that's because I was always going to do that. I've only been writing on-line for a couple of years. My plan was to have a 'base', where I wrote exclusively on one site for a year. Then branch off during the second year, so all of my eggs aren't in the same basket. This time last year, I wrote 36 articles on Wizzley, but none anywhere else. This October, I've written (so far, about to do another one) 11 articles on Wizzley, 10 on another, 26 on another and added some products to Zazzle. But on the other hand, while I'm on other sites, I'm raising the profile of Wizzley there. When I look through the new articles here, I keep seeing names of people who I referred to Wizzley. Happy days!

That's good to have your perspective Jo. You've been here longer than a lot of us, and I know your heart is still here. I totally understand the need to diversify. |
