I just thought it was interesting Paul posted today that "today is near record traffic levels for HP". With so many writers here on Wizzley because their traffic tanked over on HP, I am wondering who is getting all the traffic over there.

And traffic does not mean sales, or earning. Paula Atwell (aka lakeerieartists) is the owner of an online art gallery, Lake Erie Artists Gallery and a freelance writer

I think HP is working up for a sale or IPO - they need to get the figures up to look good for investors. There is some weird stuff going on - some people have reported very odd traffic. I'm starting to think they are either buying traffic or gaming social media. whatever - if its not organic traffic they won't buy and they won't make most of us any money One of the reasons I'm publishing at Wizzley - is that I can get pages to rank immediately - Google loves this site at the moment -long may it last! After dealing with HP who knows what's going on. Believe your own stats nothing more. |

That's very sad. I've moved all my content off HP to my own sites. Now I'm building up another portfolio here. |

Well Lissie that didn't take long Stacie L. is asking in the HP forums if HP is for sale. My New Years resolution is to stay out of ALL HP discussions. EVERYWHERE. I'm much happier here and life is working out well. |

I'm glad I never really got into HubPages. I did create a few hubs and they did okay and still make sales now and then. But nothing brought me back to the site. And I only do stuff if it's fun. I definitely keep in mind what can happen ... |

The community over there is not too much fun, however, I did enjoy making Hubs. At my high, I had about 80 hubs generating 28k visitors a week. Unfortunatley, you just never know what can happen with a website and when the bottom will fall out..... I haven't moved any of my content since I am still earning $ over there, however, pages that did do well over there, I have reinvented and with a slightly different twist, posted elsewhere.

If you can't find them in Google anymore, they're de-indexed (and de-cached) and free for reposting. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

I'm one of the people experiencing "record traffic" at Hubpages - up to 4,000 hits per day on my main account. The only problem? It's about the same in earnings I got for half that many views, pre-panda. |

With the changes that have happened to the way writers get their income over at HubPages I feel that with the return in traffic it is going to be another 12-18 months before we start to see the return of income we had previously. That is a small shame as many writers I know have become fed up and left or no longer publish.
Its a shame as I have lost touch with a few, no doubt I shall catch up with them across the internet :) |

Lissie: 13. Jan 2012, 16:13 I hadn't thought of that possibility - there could be something in it. I had a massive drop in traffic overnight on 6th December - which must have been some kind of Panda slap, because I'm now bumping along at a consistent level. Except, that is, for weird occasional spikes - which might be explained by the reasons you suggest. Marisa

Kangaroo_Jase: 23. Jan 2012, 01:52 Yep, I am one of them. I am more disturbed by how the changes have been handled, than the changes themselves. They lost my trust. There are too many other options to abuse your writers that way. And they have been rude and dismissive of concerns.
