I've embarked in a similar epic update, but this one is born out of me being a noob. :p I'm new to this whole monetising your articles malarkey, but fortunately Humagaia has stepped in to give me a few pointers. I've been systematically going through every one of my articles altering how I display the advert modules. Without counting, I think I've done about 40 out of 60 so far. It's exhausting! As for the new lay-out, I'm so undecided at the moment. I agree that it looks great with Adsense, so if that was mine, I'd be updating precisely how you are right now. But it doesn't look so hot with Chitika, as the adverts are bigger. I'm currently experimenting with ways to achieve the same 'content above the fold' goals, but with Chitika. Feb 2012, 06:02 We have a new format, you'll notice now in the title and article description module there is an additional module to add your text to, this will show up right beside your adsense ads, a very nice strategy. One I've been waiting to see for some time as it always made sense to my marketing mind. There's a post in the forum about it. Very top portion, admin update. Good Luck Katie McMurray

<----- male. wizzing. jiggying. Pam, you don't HAVE to do anything. But if you want to fill the white space next to the top AdSense block, you may now add some intro text---an extended description, so to speak---into a new box provided in the title module (click edit). That text will appear next to the ad block and thus add more useful content "above the fold". Just finished - phew! I basically dropped everything else this weekend to get it all done. So sorry to other Wizzley authors that I haven't been doing the usual round of looking at new pages. At least with new articles, I'll automatically fill in this extra space while I'm writing. It definitely looks better for people visiting the page and hopefully if it's better for readers, will also be seen to be better by google! Time for a well earned tea break now. Where's the butler gone :) |

I've just finished updating all of my wizzes to the new format and boy do they look good. Whew, that's a lot of wizzing around to get all my wizzes up to Wizard Standards.
