This is a picture of my purple ash tree, I'm laying down on the ground looking up at it. I wanted to share this with you as a bit of a break from work. The Ash trees have been hit by a wave of Ash bore bugs, sweeping through the country killing all the ash trees. This is one of the few remaining trees in my home town as most all of these wonderful trees have been cut down and destroyed due to the infestation. I've been treating my treat to prevent this threat but the last of those remaining in our neighborhood (who also were treating theirs) have been cut down this spring. I do hope mine survives but it doesn't look good. Hope with me will you :) Thanks all and have a beautiful day Katie McMurray

I hope your ash tree survives too! It's a beautiful looking tree. Most of the ashes in our area have been cut down from the ash borer. Karen

That is so sad. I hate to lose a lovely tree. Glad you are enjoying it today - what a nice way to take a break. Funny you should write this, because I visited a blog post today about pine trees being cut down needlessly in a neighborhood. Must be appreciate the trees day for me. I certainly hope that your beautiful tree stays right there for years to come. |

Thanks everyone, it is really sad to imagine an entire species of tree go extinct. I should write about it, it just makes me so sad. Good grief pines too, we really take trees for granted. Katie McMurray
