Google just quietly released a new feature called "What Do You Love?" www.wdyl.com (at this point, the URL doesn't seem to work with an "http://" - just type www.wdyl.com in your browser bar)
You type in a search term and Google delivers related info from across the web.
TechCrunch explains the details in this article.
Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Is this part of that whole "curation" movement? I've seen talk about sites curating information on videos, etc.

Well, not working very well for niche topics yet. But this is definitely going to impact sites like Squidoo if it takes off. The result is a LOT like those branded pages Squidoo made last year (or was it the year before that)?
Since it only shows stuff from Google sites (google groups for instance) this is mostly an attempt of Google to integrate it's various online offerings.

So, I googled my name and at first I didn't seem to feel the love. But after another couple of tries this popped up. Apparently not enough people are looking for me so there wasn't much info--what a surprise--but it's interesting what they can pull together. Even a map.

I've been fooling with this. I searched Down the Writer's Path, my blog's name. Then went ot the section where it said "search blogs." The first link was to my original blog at Typepad. The second to my current blog address. The THIRD was to a Wizzley paqe I did a few weeks ago about Gifts for Romance Writers. :)

This is cool. But I've got to say it, the whole thing with the map is just plain scary.

Hi! gess what? I get in www.wdyl.com and I feel in the domain of one of my blogs...
and I get a list with posts from that blog and "google-plus-1-button" which is my post on wizzley, I created 2 days ago... so they agregare very well everything we do - this is great... how useful will be in the future? we don't know yet, I presume that:
- will produce some statistical data for Google and
- some new traffic for us
but this is a speculation on my part... thanks chef
