Apparently the UK Secretary of State for Defence has sent his representatives after me for a Zazzle picture.   You'd really think he'd have more pressing concerns, wouldn't you?

So this is what we're paying civil servants and the MOD for?

Apparently so.

I have written to both the Secretary of State and my local MP for more information.   I was very polite.

I think I can deal with that individual.  I mean, look at my picture, I'm obviously Bond Girl material.

They might actually mean that you have to take down ALL the products with that photo on it. I like the baby pacifier with the ship on it. I can just see a baby chewing on that one!

I don't know what their issue is about this and I hope you'll tell us when you know. I want to put an Israeli building onto Zazzle products but have until now hesitated as the architect or city or something probably has a copyright on it.

BTW - your blog and zazzle stores both look great. Very impressive!

I am the person that your mother warned you about.

No, Zazzle warn you product by product.  The fact that they haven't touched the other ship picture means that it's ok.

The pacifier is still there?!  I thought I'd deleted that!   I did it with the Quick Create and so it automatically included a dummy.  I did spot it and ticked it for deletion, but it must have ninjaed through anyway.  I'll get rid of it.  Even I can see how inappropriate that is!

I don't know what their issue is either, but I guess that we'll find out.

Thanks!  Re the blog and Zazzle store.

I know how you feel. I get pulled out of the airport line frequently for frisking. I guess I have that sinister look of a terroist. (I can't spell this morning)

For many things it doesn't matter if you took the photo or not.  Certain things belong to certain people, companies, the government, military, etc.

It is very strange sometimes the things that we are not allowed to use and also the tags we can't use as well, even if they are innocently used.

At one point they took down "camouflage" items and for a while we couldn't use the word "marine" as in "marine life" or relating to sea stuff.  I'm not even sure if it's okay now.

The best advice I can give is if it's not completely yours - the photo and image in it, be ready for possible problems.  That is why everything you see on free image sites (like Pixabay) are not necessarily okay to post for sale.

Just be thankful that you took a photo of UK hardware. Had you taken photos of military equipment in certain other countries you would not have had the chance to complain from your prison cell, for some time. That would have cost us UK taxpayers several hundred thousand pounds to get you back.

Worth every penny!

Jo, maybe you should stick to photographing the rolling English hillside.

Welcome to the reality of professional photography:

1. You can take a pic of nearly everything.

2. You can't use your pic for everything.

The case here is quite clear, people that can purchase your product, with your photo, on Zazzle, can add text to it and alter it. In theory they could add a text to it that makes your pic (of the battleship) indorsing their political message. A big No-No. Old stock photographers joke: The only thing safe to photography is a white egg over a white background ...

There is more to professional photography then we think, like trademarks, personal rights etc. Learn the ropes or ...

Stop the world, I want to get off.

Mike Scott, as you know, said "on" - but what our world has become....can I ask for a refund?

Jo has not updated this thread in 14 hours.

Could she have been taken to 'The Tower'?

Might we have to form a 'Jo is innocent' campaign? No, we can't do that, she is patently guilty! It will have to be a 'Jo did not know what she was doing' campaign. No, in the eyes of the law 'not knowing' is not a defence.

Sod it, we'll just have to storm 'The Tower' so she can go on the run.

I hear Wales is pretty wild and inaccessible, especially with all the recent rain and snow. I'm sure she could find somewhere snug and warm to hole out in.

Is there an extradition treaty in place in Wales? If there is, then it will have to be Scotland - lay low until they get Independence - I'm sure they wouldn't send anyone back - unless they want to have the protection of the UK armed forces (you know, those 7 soldiers, 3 navy personnel and 2 airmen that will be left by that time!).

Anywhere else? Are any of you in the US willing to give her sanctuary?

I beleive that poltics in 1st world countries has reached a point that the Ministry Of Silly Walks (MoSW) should look into SERIOUSLY doing something about this......by the people for the people....or some such.

I shall now and forever be a parliamentary member of the MoS....... Ministry of Sound.....
