If I remember correctly readers who are not members were once able to leave comments.  I like using the comments section as a sort of forum on a page for readers questions and or comments helpful to me, the writer and the reader, allowing them to get advice from not only me but other members, etc.

Recently I've received questions from readers (via Facebook) asking if they have to join to leave questions and get answers.

Before I get back to them... what says you?

Yes, only members can leave comments, which is a necessary protection against spam.

Best,

Simon

Thanks Simon, that makes sense. Appreciate your prompt follow through.

Swings and roundabouts, to use an English phrase. My wife tried to leave a favourable comment, but could not. On the other hand, I did have one troll aping one of my comments, which is now not permissible. I lost out by missing her comment; I gained by deleting the troll.

Absolutely, although we creatures of habit miss routine, this change is good.
