Chef, Night Owl & Simon, I was wondering if you guys plan on releasing any site updates such as number of active writers, number of pages, sales/traffic growth stats, etc.

Not really, Janet. Those are internal business stats of no practical value to authors. To learn more about Wizzley's SEO and Market value, you can use all kinds of free tools, such as Alexa, SEO Quake, etc. You'll find our top authors (like yourself) on our authors' list. When you browse through the pages, you'll get to a point where it changes from authors to members only (without articles). Aside from all that, we're constantly working on improving our site. I don't think any other site rejects as much content as we do. Still, the more quality content - the better our future. Can you help spreading the word about us among your top author friends? In 4 years we may be the only site with 100% filtered content thus surpassing the others in quality content not so much overall content- which do you think google will like better a site with 500k bad article and 400k good ones or a site wtih 300k good ones and NO bad ones?

Squidoo is doing pretty well from what I see on quantcast etc. However, the quality of articles that are accepted there are really bad in MOST cases - just affiliate products and nothing else is what I see on some of them. The best part is they still manage to rank well, so considering everything I'm sure Wizzley got a bright future if the standards are maintained. Check out my blog SEO for Dummies

Well, by my cursory look, we're doing great. Quantcast says that we had an 80% rise in traffic recently. Alexa says that search visits are 67% up this week alone. From what I can gather, none of this means much in the real world anyway, as it's only registering people who feed it data. But the words 'rise' and 'up' are in there anyway, yippee! I've just come out of a thread on the forum full of people happy dancing over their earnings. I didn't count the authors, because I'd be here all night. But it feels like there are more of us! Lots of new names coming in and joining the community like old friends. Talking of friends, three different ones have told me, this month alone, that they've randomly been given a link to a Wizzley article. Our name is getting out there. Articles? Average of 1224 a month accepted, by my very dodgy, limited data, subject to untold variables and probably totally wrong calculations. (And likely to grow over the winter, because amusingly people write less when there's sunbathing to do. It picks up again around October, when everyone craps themselves to get the Xmas articles in.) So time to pop the champagne corks, get writing, get your friends on board and let's rock this ship as it sails into the great future outlined by Jerrico. In my humble opinion, anyway. Thanks, Janet and Jo. Wizzley has a different payout system than Zujava. Here you don't need any overall income reports to gauge your upcoming earnings. You can check for yourself - 24/7/52/12 - in your own aff accounts. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

I was just looking to see how the site as a whole was progressing in terms of earnings, not just me. But, like I said, no biggie. btw Jo what forum thread are your referring to? I rarely see people talking about earnings in the forum here, unless I just keep missing those threads. |
