I've just posted a review of a book. Did the usual run through the social networking, then did my equally usual check to see what the starting hits where.
Usually it's between 20-40, generally from that StumbleUpon listing.
But this happened.
Bear in mind that this is no more than five minutes after I posted it. Is that right? There's no background glitch?
Each time I refresh it, more are coming. Lots more. Wtf?
Edit: SOLVED! Cory Doctorow reTweeted me. :D Bless him!

You wrote a fantastic review. I'm not surprise the author, himself, tweeted you on. This is great. You are a marvel to watch.
Wonder what your next great viral-project will be.

Thank you. :)
I just enjoyed the book and wanted him to know. It's a bit of a thank you for him writing it. This is just a happy moment of indirect social networking!

Yes it is possible. Many authors use a Google Search function (I can't remember exactly what it is) and then it automatically includes it on their site. I have a book blog and the posts often show up on their sites. Writers often write comments as well. It's a great deal of fun to be in that niche!

Nothing "indirect" about it. This IS social networking. Bravo!
Digby - do you mean Google Alerts? You can set it up for certain keywords, so it emails you a link every time someone writes about them.
Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Just to run the circle - you can use Google Alerts to create Tweets using Dlvr.it

Digby - That may be how he catches some things, but on this occasion I'd cc:ed him on the Tweet. He was actually there, because we had a little conversation via Twitter afterwards.
Achim - I really should note the 'networking' part of that phrase, shouldn't I? LOL
Chaz - I'd not heard of that. I'll check it out.
CapstoneTrends - Thank you very much. <3
