ads of one kind or another

Pardon me for asking so many questions lately. Hope I'm not taxing your patience.

I'm starting to understand this ads business but just barely, Here are some questions:

1. what is the relative profitability of adsense versus chitika?

2. I have chitika and it shows for Jan 18 only 14 impressions whereas I had 98 unique visitors that day and on Jan 19 it shows 25 impressions and I had 46 unique visitors that day. How does that make sense?

3. If the middle column, eCPM, is just *s, does that mean there were no clicks?

4. If I passed the first step of getting registered for adsense, will I only get step 2 approval if I put my number into the setting of my wizzley account and they can start crawling the site through me? If I do that, how long does it take before I can expect to start getting revenues?  In the meantime, I am losing possible revenues from chitika - what's the best long-term strategy?

Actually that is a good question.  I don't know but look forward to learning from your question.  

1. I find AdSense better, but that's just me. It depends on your way of using these ad blocks on your own web properties, and other things, I guess. I don't have any exact stats.

2. Impressions are shown in your Chitika account when YOUR ID was displayed during a page view. When OUR ID is displayed, you won't get an impression in your account. 

3. I don't use Chitika. I'm sure there are explanations on the site.

4. Once you have a pub-ID, enter it into your personal settings on Wizzley. Then wait and watch your impressions rolling in. Slowly. 

At this point of your revenue-generating career, you won't lose much more than a few cents. Decide on AdSense OR Chitika---I recommend AdSense---and then stick with it, so you don't have to wait forever for your first payout.

And don't worry too much about all this. Write articles, learn about keywords and optimization, write more articles, and the rest will fall in place by itself. Your main focus should be on traffic generation with your content. That's how you'll make money with AdSense (or Chitika).

I entered my pub-ID on my wizzley settings and I was wondering now what the channel is - do I leave that blank or fill it in with something?

Is there no use for what adsense calls my "customer ID"?
