Help me, please!

Any chance of getting a portrait format option when loading images?

I've just been loading some images - which works absolutely fine for landscape format - and I like the options as to the format I was given as to size re width.

However I uploaded a portrait format photo and it turned sideways into landscape format

I couldn't see any option to swivel photos - is there one?

If not, is it possible to have one?

Hi makingamark,

Could it be that the file you uploaded is actually stored "sideways" on your hard drive? I know that I sometimes rotate images in my Windows Explorer, but this doesn't automatically change the actual file.

Portrait format should display just fine, if the image was uploaded in this way.

I'm assuming you uploaded an image from within the text editor. Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Nope

  1. Picture is displayed correctly on my hard drive.  I always change the formats when I upload them as it is sooooo irritating watching slideshows otherwise! ;)
  2. I uploaded the image using the images module.

Yeah, I agree, watching slideshows sideways gets old very fast...

I just tried out an image module and uploaded a variety of combinations in portrait and landscape mode. They all came out in the intended way, not rotated sideways. So it seems the module uploads and displays portrait or landscape images correctly.

If you continue to have this problem let me know and we'll have a look at your page, ok?

Is it working now for you? If not, would you mind sending me the image file please?

No still not working and I tried again with a different image and also tried uploading as an image within the text module - and that didn't work either

How do I send you an image?

We resolved the issue, but just in case someone else has the same problem:

Try opening the image in a graphics program, rotating it to the correct aspect, and then saving it again before uploading it.

That should fix it.
