Are you allowing outsiders to comment?

Until now i used to leave (both at Squidoo and here) comments open only for internals, but now I've decided to test here how it works if non-Wizzlers also comment. But the last 2 days I already got a couple of shady comments from some Blogspot-ers promoting , well, spammy products. How did they find me so fast?!

So now I'm curious what is everyone else doing - are you allowing non-Wizzlers to comment as well or better not do it?

I've always allowed outsiders to comment on the stuff I do. Maybe I'd change that if I got a lot of spam, but honestly I only get one message every few weeks, if that, and I always get notifications on comments so it's easy for me to remove them. Then again, I don't think I really get many comments outside of the community, so I probably wouldn't see a huge drop if I closed off outsiders.

Thanks Emma. I'll leave it at that for now and just delete them manually instead of approving them if they're spammy. Just now I got one from a Squidoo lensmaster with a link to one of his Squidoo lenses, I let it in as at least the comment was useful.
