I am about to write a story and I want to tell the person "you can find this information at" and then I write www.ancestry.com and within the article I reference more sites. Is this allowed?? So far in my stories I have told the reader, "you can Google", and I have not typed in the website the info is actually on. Is this allowed and if so, what happens if I type in the website URL, will a link be put within my story??
Forum
Help me, please!

If it is relevant you can put a link to website, However; don't put too many links, I think there is a ratio of text vs links that is allowed. |

If you sign up for viglink, you might even earn a commission if someone signs up for ancestry.com. Nightowl one of the owners of the site wrote a good article on it. Here's the link http://wizzley.com/viglink/ |

Wizzley does not automatically turn a web address into a clickable link. You'll have to do that yourself, using the link tool in the editor tool bar. Btw, telling readers to "google it" is not a good service. Provide all useful links in your article. It's best practice to have not more than 2-3 truly relevant links on a page, as Google frowns upon too many links. Same problem as Paul. I typed in the URL in my latest article and it didn't highlight. Then I read the replies to his query about using the link but I'm not sure what i should put in the Title space. I copied the website I want to direct the readers to, then pasted this in the URL box (is this correct) but although it high-lighted the URL it merely linked back to my article. MariNicholson

Thanks, chefkeem, URL is http://wizzley.com/avoiding-dvt-while-travelling/
You couldn't also have a look and see if you can discover why I cannot upload my picture? I have asked many times on the Forum but no one can help. I have uploaded it before with no problem, the problem arose when i tried to change it but even when I went back and tried to upload the old one it wouldn't let me do so. I can upload images in the body of the articles, but it's just on my Profile one that I cannot put anything. It doesn't look very good as it is. If you could help .......................... I fixed the link for you, Mari. Also, I removed the second link because it was redundant. Next time, write out the title in the text editor, then highlight that title, click on the link tool, and enter the URL into the pop-up box. Save. With regard to your image upload, I believe Simon saw this as a browser issue. Perhaps you need to update your browser, or use a different one. Thanks for fixing that for me, Chefkeen. I do appreciate it. With regard to the image, I use Google Chrome which is bang up to date, but my computer man is coming tomorrow to see about my printer which has a problem at the moment and I'll ask him to take a look. Will report back to you.

Problem solved after all this time. My computer man said it was something to do with the SAVE option which wasn't working as it should. Anyway, he fiddled around with it and got everything working so I'm pleased to have a face on the site again! MariNicholson
