I'm putting an article together as I write this. I want to link to an article online but I keep getting the message that the link is invalid. I've redone it half a dozen times and clicked on the link which works fine.  Anyone know how to get it to accept the link?

Yep, maybe this can help:

1. Publish without link.

2. When the article is published, edit it - put your link in.

Thanks! I'll give that a try.

Try adding:

<a href="http://www.your domain.com">LINK TEXT HERE</a>

into the HTML section of a text module, this should work.

TonfaGuy:  Putting it in HTML made no difference.

Tolovaj: I tried your suggestion. No difference

The only thing I can think of is that the link is a long one. Is there some restriction on how long it can be?

Now I've got the article published but I can't get any link to work in that module. I've even tried using the article list page and it won't work either.

What are the links you're trying to add, Lana?

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/my-puppy-my-self/201008/canine-communication-iii-are-dogs-telepathic

This is the link

It doesn't work here either. But if I click on it while it's telling me it's invalid, it takes me right to the page.

Well, it's not the length of the URL because it doesn't like http://www.psychologytoday.com either. I'll try some other things and get back to you! The only other thing I can think of is that Wizzley's requests to the site are timing out, but mine, yours and isup.me's aren't, so I'm not sure if that's the cause or not (or if Wizzley even checks for that, for that matter!).

Thanks so much. I don't know what it could be. I put it so people can copy/paste for now.

It's happening pretty fast. Can't imagine it's timing out, but then what do I know.

It works on FB and MS Word without any hiccups.

I've just tried and succeeded in reproducing the error.   There's nothing wrong with how the link is being rendered.  It should work.  But it's claiming that the link doesn't exist.

In other news, water is wet.

Edit:  I'm testing things out and leaving my results here:

  • It's not links per se, as I can get other URLs to work.
  • It won't allow it with a link shortener.
  • It's not the coding of the site, as I can get other apps to link to your URL.

Yep. That's about what I got too. Weird.
