I want my name to appear here as Sheri Oz and not just Sheri but I don't see where to do that.

Sheri, it is not possible (nor advisable) to change a user name retroactively. On your profile however, you do have the option to display a first and a last name, which you did.

In any case, you couldn't have a blank space in your user name either, but Sheri_Oz would work. If you absolutely need a different user name your best recourse would be to set up a new account and transfer your stuff over.

Sheri_Oz would be fine. Or Sheri.Oz. It's just that people don't look me up using just my first name and everywhere I am both. Even SheriOz would be great. I tried to change it on my settings - where it says first name.

That was why I registered as Sheri because that's what was on the settings page. Or did I miss someplace where you can register a nick?

You pick your user name when you first sign up for a new account. There is no other place to register a nick.

I see. So it's a done deal. I'm not going to delete my account and start all over.

If you like, we can change your username to "Sheri_Oz". The only thing to consider is, that the URL to your author profile on Wizzley changes, too. If that's okay for you, give us a note please :)

You can also add your full name in the page footer signature (which you can add under Settings).

Doesn't that mean that all your backlinks to your author profile, so far, will show up as errors?

As Anne said above - changing your profile ID may not be the best idea, unless you want to start over with your branding.

Simon - I think you should explain the consequences to Sherri. She may not be fully aware of them.

I don't know how many backlinks I could have at present. And wouldn't it be better to be recognized as Sheri Oz across all my writings?

If it would really screw things up, then I'll leave it as it is. But perhaps at this early stage of the game, it may be better to be Sheri Oz and not just some anonymous Sheri

But I don't know what is best from the technical point of view.

How about starting a new Wizzley account under "Sherri_Oz", and transferring all your childhood abuse articles over to the new account? We can help you with the transfer, so you don't have to copy/paste anything.

Achim - I have put on my current name account only that material that I want there. Other stuff is not on that account. So no need to split it.

So, given that Sheri Oz has a nice presence already, would it not be better to have my Sheri account be a Sheri_Oz account (only " r "). Would that screw up backlinks I already have or is it not serious at this point?

we've just implemented a new feature on Wizzley, allowing us to change usernames without affecting existing backlinks negatively. I'll rename your username to "Sheri_Oz" in about 5 minutes. If you open your "old" profile, you'll be directly redirected to your new username . Remember to use your new username for your login though.

This is wonderful. I am no longer an anonymous Sheri, but the Sheri Oz I recognize. I don't know why I originally signed myself only Sheri. Guess I wasn't aware of the implications.
