Need Duel Module Comments Help, Pleeezzze

Oh fellow Wizzlers,

Don't you love when, after writing on a site for over a year, you learn something new a bit too late?

Here is my dilemma...

Sometimes, given my lifestyle, I approve comments in bulk when I have time. I know I get a notice in my dashboard and I also get an email notice. When I'm busy I will often delete the email reminders that there is a comment because I know it will show up in a cute little bubble and in my comments tab on my Wizzley dashboard.

However, I always assumed duel module comments worked that way, too...so to clean up inbox stuff on my smartphone, I would often delete the reminders from Wizzley.

A few days ago, I just KNEW one of those reminder emails had mentioned the duel module, yet it didn't show in my pending comments log in Wizzley. I went to the article only to find I had never approved ANY of the duel module comments! They'd been sitting there since the dinosaurs!

I truly don't know how many articles I put these modules on, but I guess I either always assumed they automatically posted OR I took care of them.

So the question is...pending duel module comments DON'T get a little comment bubble flag on my dash, don't show in comments tab on my dash, etc? So the only way to be sure you don't forget to approve them is to follow the email link each time?

By the way...I am highly aware that this could be me, missing some obviously easier way. But I love those little white bubbles and flags that tell me I have business to attend to, reply to, etc.

Hi Robin,

If you uncheck "Hold all comments for moderation" in the edit mode of your duel, your duel comments will post automatically and you won't have to manually okay them. You also need to check "Use individual article settings" in your account settings area if you want to review the comments but approve the duels.

And, no, it's not a dumb question. We tend to set things up at the beginning and then just go with it because writing on Wizzley is not the only way we spend our days for most of us. 

Yes I too don't moderate the dual modules comments. I do include them as often as I can and have never had a problem with anyone leaving something inappropriate.

I definitely don't want to hold duel module comments for moderation, but I DO want to hold general comments for moderation. Now in normal comments, don't you have to check the option for "hold comments?" Meaning, it isn't automatic?

So I guess I assumed that was the case in duel modules, without looking...

My problem is now that I don't know, out of all of my articles, how many of them had these modules...and not thinkin' I'm going to take time to plow through them all to undo it...

I don't have too many duel modules, but I just had this issue Robin.  I visited a recent article of mine and found a comment that had been sitting there for about a week.

I think I have overlooked some too, thinking that they would show up somewhere other than in the e-mail link.  I think I will change the option to have the text just post without approval.

I've never held any of mine for moderation.  I've never had any problems either.  Mind you, I don't hold the comments either.

In short, I'm neither use nor ornament to you in this conversation!

I had this happen too thinking I'd get a notice. Same thing. I didn't see it for weeks!

I have had some spammy comments on my blogs and other sites so I do hold my comments for moderation now.
