Not that it matters, but what are pages called here?

We've got lenses, hubs, and now... what?

Wizzes? AJ called them that in a forum post.

Page seems a bit boring. What do we call our pages at Wizzley?

How about "wizzleys"?

Same as the authors.

Simple.

We are wizzleys who create wizzleys on wizzley.

Or, we call authors "wizzleyees". Nah.

Or, we call pages "wizzles" and authors "wizzies".

Possibilities abound.

Good question Jimmie. I am kinda partial to "wizzley" too, but it's still early in the game.

Must admit that I do like "Wizzes" but as with lenses, when writing for the wider community we still need to refer to them as pages or articles

I must confess I like plain ordinary accessible names like "pages"!

That way I can tak to other people about them more easily.  I'd like to be able to talk about the content rather spend time discussing the funny name! 

I've never quite understood the way in which the content sites invent words for their products.  Serious question: Doesn't it make it more difficult for people to understand what they are about?

I like wizzleys for the authors. Sounds like a big funny family... Maybe we are publishing wizzpages or wizzarticles?

Seriously I spent years at Squidoo producing "sites" or "resources" or "websites" because nobody ever seemed to understand the word "lens" - so I just called them something else. 

I didn't have a problem with the concept oft he lens - however it just didn't translate to an accessible term understood by the man in the street (as in no explanation required - ever).   That'll be the one that hasn't quite got his head around what a blog is as yet!

I like the word pages so I'll stick with that.  If people want to call them something else that's fine so long as it's not a name which goes on all the pages.

I actually really liked the name of the german equivalent site PageWhizz - that sounds really good.

Except for one thing.  As I recall doesn't "wizz" translate into a word not used in polite company in the USA.  When I was visiting the US I used to say things like "I'll just wizz in this shop and..." and got met with startled faces and lots of giggles.

Then they explained to me what it means........

Katherine - authors may name their works anyway they want, of course.

I always thought that whiz (with an "h") means "pee". I pointed this out when I first met Simon and Hans. Close call, I thought.

In the end, it doesn't really matter, and when people talk...that's good. 

I was never quite sure which way it was spelt - I just used to say it and everybody used to giggle!

Mind you giggling is good too!

The only thing is that it's a sort of shorthand among us writers. (Yes, with outsiders I don't use the terms hub & lens a lot.)

I can say, "I made a hub," and you know it's a page at Hubpages.

I can say, "I made a lens," and you know it's a page at Squidoo.

If we have no name, I have to say, "I made a page at Wizzley."

At any rate, they will probably organically become something. I like AJ's wizz.

Among us, I really like Jimmie's use of "wizzes" for pages, and "wizzleys" is cute for authors.

While the definitive nickname of our articles is still up in the air I'd like to suggest a name for a specific type of pages: The Quizzley

Calling us wizards is not a bad idea.  :)  I am not real happy about calling the articles wizzes.

Paula - I find wizards a bit overused. Re: wizzes - nothing is written in stone. Any suggestions?

Please please tell me there won't be any "monsters" or trophies to go with the "funny" names.
