I hope I'm not starting to sound like a nag posting on the forum all the time.
From the "how many writers on wizzley" thread I started a few days ago, one of the suggestions for more traffic was to use Pinterest. So this morning I signed up for Pinterest and I'm working on a couple of boards.
I've read some of the Pinterest helps on Wizzley (some of which are very good by the way) and I have a question.
I know that you can't just blatantly post your own work all the time. However, does it matter if it's from the same domain? I'm all for sharing link love, and I want to pin articles from writers here at Wizzley. But if the majority of what I pin is from Wizzley, whether it's written by me or not, will it be frowned upon by the powers that be on Pinterest?
Thanks ya'll!

Don't know for sure. I'd mix it up a bit.
Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Chances are you'll be very tempted to post stuff from anywhere, anyway :).
But I have seen people who post mostly their own company stuff, etc. Same thing on StumbleUpon.

One thing you can do Abby, is do a search on the Pinterest sight and pin from others to your board. I intersperse that with my own Pins from various places.
It gets to be addictive so watch out...

Thanks! I'm going to try this. I'm so behind with this social thing. I only do twitter and google plus

Pinterest is so easy to love. And an inspiration for Zazzle, too. So good luck and enjoy!

Yes, I get stuck on there just browsing.... And you must include some Zazzle things on the appropriate boards - like maybe "travel" for you Abby? Zazzle has it's own pin button in the Share area on each product page.

Pinterest is an addiction for me, the moment i post an article online, i just head to pinterest to pin it, but as you asked about your posts being considered spammy- you just need to first of all follow boards of your choice for example- health and wellness, pregnancy and baby care etc etc depending upon your choice, once you do that, you can start re-pinning on your boards from pinterset itself. In between however, you can post your own posts from wizzley on those specific boards. So, it wont look spammy and you wil be hooked to make your boards interesting ones.

2uesday, I know what you mean. One woman who is a regular poster is getting a lot of traffic that way.

I did find that out the hard way. I thought I was making pretty cool pinterest pics with text, but I was using it as the main picture, but didn't use it anywhere else in the article. Since signing up for pinterest I found out you can't use the main picture.

Hi Abby, one more Pinterest tip I've learned from someone else is, when you pin, and you add a description, you can also put something to the effect of, "Click on the picture to read the article." A lot of people don't know that or don't automatically do that. Not all pins have articles behind them, so this lets people know that this one does.

I wish we could use that image, but it's too small. In fact it probably makes it difficult for others to pin our Wizzley's too. I've had that problem myself, trying to pin one written by someone else.
Maybe the techies here at Wizzley have a suggestion.
As far as I know using hashtags is still a good idea in the description.
Anyone know if that is true?

Hashtags like in twitter?
Yes. Does anyone know if those work well on other sites besides Twitter? I've seen them all over - even at FaceBook.
