Problems Publishing a New Page

I am having problems getting a new page to publish.

I am getting an error message that states:

Ooops - too little content. Please write a bit more.

Add more text, images, a poll, a duel, or other unique content to your article.
For every product from Amazon, eBay and Zazzle - you must write at least 50 descriptive words.

I've got a poll, two images, a content page and 4 text boxes. I've also got words in the Amazon modules.

Can you tell me why it is still won't publish? I think this has more content than the other Pyramid one that I published earlier.

I went through and added in subtitles to every module and that has brought the flag up to being 95 % of being publishable.

I tried putting in photograph credits just as text under an image without putting a heading on the text module.

I am wondering if I don't have 50 words for the Amazon Modules?

I'm up to 98% I think by adding in more words to the first text box.

Is there a minimum on the text boxes?

I know that I used one for just a quote yesterday.

Looks like I might not have met the 400 words.

In adding in a few additional words, I finally was able to get it published.

Are the text modules the only ones counting towards the 400 words?

This may make it tough to publish pages, because I don't know if I can write 400 words about myself :)

You need 50 words for each Amazon ad on your page. NOT 50 words to describe your ad, but 50 words of unique article text.

If you have 10 ads on your page, your text needs to be at least 500 words long. Not only 400 words.

In your case, you could have used only 3 instead of 6 products in your Amazon modules. That would have balanced out the relationship between ads and text and the site would have been publishable.

This rule is similar to Hubpages, bur our explanation in our guidelines was a little fuzzy. We'll adjust that.

I'll try and remember the Amazon rules.

Does the +50 words for apply to all ad modules like Zazzle, or only Amazon?

Also I've been wanting to ask: does the 400 count apply only to words in the text area, or does it also count words in the module titles, subtitles, etc?

It did seem to make a difference if I was putting in subtitles in the text areas.

The exact rule is: at least 400 words OR 50 words per Amazon and Zazzle product.

Meaning: If you have more than 8 products of Amazon or Zazzle, then you need more than 400 words in total; 50 per product from whichever module.

In the case of text modules: subtitles and titles count, in all other modules, they don't. YouTube, Flickr, Google Maps, Polls and Duels also contribute to the content, however in a limited way. So please don't simply add 40 Flickr images. It won't make a difference to e.g. 5 pics only.

Do the AllPosters count towards the total ads?

Kirsti - yes they are ads too.  What we are trying to achieve is a balance between article content and ad content.  Respected sites like ezinearticles.com were punished by Google in part because some pages had the situation where the word count in ads exceeded the word count in the article.  Ezinearticles.com has taken swift steps to correct this by reducing the number of ads per article page.  Wizzley has its own way of treating the problem (we were aware of this issue as we were designing the site).

The reality is if you have too many ads, you reduce the impact on the reader - they can't focus. As someone else pointed out too. readers often won't buy what you display but will click thorugh to the advertising site and buy something else.

Joan - a 400-word review of one cool product could be a very valuable resource for readers. But you may advertise up to 8 products (Zazzle, Amazon, AllPosters) in a 400-word article.

Besides how often do you write only 400 words?

We made a minor change, to make it more obvious and simple:

Since AllPosters ads are more images than ads, from a reader's point of view, we only count Amazon, Zazzle and eBay products as ads.

Also, from now on, we only count simple text inside text modules. No other modules are counting and no titles or subtitles. It's not a big change, but it's more simple to explain :)

Having a specific word count (knowing how many more words are needed before publishing) is very helpful, much more so than a percentage. :)
