Time to Clear From the SE Cache

I deleted two articles at the same time off Squidoo, after I'd put the information into (unpublished) wizzley articles.

Both of them had no trouble being cleared from the Google cache, and one has been published. However the second one keeps coming up with a link to the original article. Is there a way to find out which search engine still has this cached?

Didn't you say it still keeps coming up in Google? There's your search engine.

Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Sorry Achim - I meant both have been recrawled by Google and both have been removed from Google.

If there is still a question...I don't get it. Which "second one" keeps coming up where? I don't think we have enough info to answer this.

The article mentioned has been deleted, and also cleared from the Google cache. Yet still getting this message. Just wondering if there's a way to find out where this duplicate "cache" is.

Oh, now I see...I suspect the fault lies within our built-in duplicate checker. I would ignore it. After publishing your page, we can run it through copyscape and make spot checks on Google.

Who knows, the info may come from a cached (outdated) version of the built-in checker.

Ok thanks Achim. I will go publish it... fingers crossed it's just an error on the Wizzley side (doubt I'll ever say that again!)

I can't find any duplicates to your article, Susannah.  Smile

But I'm wondering about something else: your section titles are images. Wouldn't it be better SEO for your article if you'd placed your headlines into our optimized module title fields?

I'm such a girl. I made the article over a year ago on Squidoo, and at the time the headings looked pretty. Smile So decided just to transfer them over too. However I did title each photo with matching keywords, then hid the titles. I'm assuming that even hidden titles  have the text hidden somewhere in the source code? Or do hidden titles just get tucked away where not even SEs can find them?

Edit: Oh and forgot to say thanks. Sealed

Personally, I think our automatic <h2> and <h3> tags are more effective than image tags, especially since you're not featuring any real images for image searchers.

It was never keyword researched anyway. And yes, this is the reason I am not yet an internet millionaire, because I prefer pretty and interesting to keyworded and clickable (and I suck at combining the two!)
