I plan to transfer several articles from Suite101 to Wizzley as soon as Suite releases them. Would taking them off line for one week be sufficient before posting them again?

Your articles must be de-indexed by Google before you can republish them on Wizzley, Brenda. To find out if they're de-indexed, type this into Google search: site:http://suite101.com/your-article-URL In other words, type site: followed by the URL of your article. If it still shows up in the Google search results, it hasn't been de-indexed yet. That process may take from a few days to a few weeks. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

If you have them verified in Google's webmaster tools, you can always request them to be removed from the index - faster ;-) SY |

Brenda, although you have to wait for them to deindex this doesn't mean you can't build them on your account- in other words until you publish them they are still "offline" as far as anything counts- I'd take this time to transfer them but not publish them before they deindex- saves you some time and gets the ball rolling... I use copyscape to check if my work has been stolen (meaning I have to rewrite them if they are) and just enter the page like Chef says to check if they are deindexed- my rule of thumb is to just wait a week before publishing but I don't waste time waiting to move them into unpublished wizzles and tweaking them to perfection in the interim ....

I see you got all the answers already. I can confirm de-indexation can take several weeks. |
